Healthcare in PuducherryThe Department of Health and Family Welfare (Nalavazhi Thurai) functioning under the Government of Puducherry is responsible for delivering quality health care in the union territory of Puducherry. The union territory is a leading health care base in South India with the presence of a lot of world-class health care facilities like Jawahar Institute of Post-Grauduate Education and Research, popularly called as Jipmer in Gorimedu area, Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital And Post Graduate Institute at Victor Simonal Street, Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences at Kalapet and many other trusted facilities.
Puducherry is way ahead in a lot of national-level patterns pertaining to health care. For instance, the union territory features bright figures when equated to the national median when it is about health indicators.
